XCellR8 was established to address a previously unmet need for fast, informed and effective technical support in cell culture science. Importantly, our advice is completely impartial since we are independent from the commercial manufacturers and distributors of cell culture products.
The founders of XCellR8 have extensive cell culture experience in both academic and industrial environments. We are passionate about cell culture, and our vocational approach to providing support and training to labs around the world places our company in a unique position to act as a focal point for the discussion and development of new cell culture-based technologies. We aid real scientific progress in the development of in vitro research techniques for a wide range of applications.

In March 2009, the 7th Amendment of the European Cosmetics Directive will be fully implemented. This legislation imposes a complete ban on the testing of cosmetic ingredients on animals, and a marketing ban on the majority of animal-tested cosmetic products. In the past few years, the cosmetics industry and various academic groups have made a co-ordinated effort to develop and validate in vitro alternatives to replace the animal tests. The founders of XCellR8 have actively contributed to this effort, and our company is strongly committed to supporting the further development of scientifically validated in vitro alternatives, for the cosmetics industry and beyond.
